BENEFITS OF ROSE OIL

FOR FACE & BODY

Chapter 1

Once you have quality, pure Rose Oil in your hand, there are a number of easy ways to incorporate it into your beauty routine and reap the tremendous benefits for the skin that it offers.

BENEFITS OF ROSE OIL FOR SKIN

1) Antibacterial Properties of Rose Oil

First and foremost, pure Rose Oil is an antibacterial substance. That is one of the reasons why it is effective on acne prone skin. It is capable of both nourishing and disinfecting the skin. It is so potent actually that it is also used in treating scars and other skin imperfections. (see Chapter 2 for Usage Guidance)

Bulgarian Rose Oil, in particular has strong anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce Rosacea and soothe irritation; all while giving you a glowing complexion. It is naturally antibacterial and astringent, making it an excellent choice for those looking to clear pores and decrease breakouts.

And the best thing is that Rose Oil is also able to soothe and protect the skin from future irritations.

In 2010, researchers published a study uncovering that Bulgarian Rose Essential Oil exhibited one of the strongest bactericidal activities compared to 10 other oils. Even better than thyme, lavender and cinnamon essentials oils, pure Rose Oil was able to completely destroy Propionibacterium acnes (the bacteria responsible for acne) after only five minutes of a 0.25 percent dilution

FAST FACT

  • 70% of rose oil for skincare is harvested and distilled in Bulgaria (considered to be the best in the world). The remainder is produced in Turkey, Iran, Morocco and France.

2) Nourishes the skin

The natural, pure Rose Oil contains more than 50 compounds that are beneficial for the skin. These naturally occurring molecules are impossible to create in a lab. Consequently, artificial Rose Oil (known as Artisan oil) has absolutely no benefits for the skin (it just smells like roses).

In addition, pure Rose Oil (steam distilled from the petals of the Bulgarian Rosa Damascena) is much richer in these nutrients that cheaper natural versions like Rose Hip Oil (produced from Rose buds from any rose bushes) or Rose Absolute Oil (solvent extracted Rose oil) and other cheaper alternatives.

Here are some of the Rose Oil key therapeutic compounds:

  • Citral – strong antimicrobial that is necessary for vitamin A synthesis (also found in lemon myrtle and lemongrass).
  • Carvone – effective digestive aid (also found in caraway and dill).
  • Citronellyl Acetate – part of many skin and beauty products. It is also responsible for the pleasant flavor and aroma of roses
  • Eugenol – the richest antioxidant in the world, also the powerhouse behind clove
  • Farnesol – natural pesticide (also found in orange blossom, jasmine and ylang-ylang).
  • Methyl Eugenol – local antiseptic and anesthetic (also found in cinnamon and lemon balm).
  • Nerol– sweet-smelling aromatic antibiotic compound (also found in lemongrass and hops).
  • Phenyl Acetaldehyde – another sweet-smelling and aromatic compound (also found in chocolate).
  • Phenyl Geraniol – natural form of geraniol, which is commonly in perfumes and fruit flavorings.

3) Fights wrinkles

It’s no surprise that Rose Oil typically makes the list of top anti-aging essential oils.

Pure Rose Oil has been used for centuries for its beautifying properties. One of its most important properties is that is helps skin stay younger for longer.

Thanks to the unique combination of antioxidants like citronellol and geraniol, pure Rose Oil helps diminish signs of aging and slows down the free radical damage. (Free radicals cause internal damage to the skin tissue, which results in wrinkles, lines and dehydration.)

These natural qualities of Rose Oil makes it especially beneficial for dry, mature and sensitive skin. It enhances natural skin glow and radiance and helps with superficial broken capillaries and scars, as well as eczema and rosea.

Furthermore, Rose Oil, moisturizes and purifies skin by pulling toxins out of its outer layers. And, as we’ve explained in Benefit 1) & 2), Rose Oil has strong antibacterial and balancing properties when applied topically.

Actually, coping with wrinkles, not so much the pleasant aroma, is the main reason why Rose Oil is so widely used in premium cosmetics. It’s natural composition, enables it tostimulate collagen production. Thus wrinkles are smoothed away, and the skin becomes fresher and younger.

Bulgarian Rose Oil, in particular continues to be adored for its holistic effect on the skin, working to soften, hydrate, calm inflammation and prevent blemishes. This fragrant essence is easily absorbed, thanks in part to its essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, both of which strengthen the skin’s cell barriers to aid in absorbing and retaining moisture. Elements like naturally antibacterial citronellol and geraniol help prevent breakouts while an assortment of skin-essential minerals treat inflammation-related conditions, such as rosacea and eczema.

Bulgarian Rose Oil Skincare

Many natural anti-aging ingredients feel greasy on the skin and are best used at nighttime. Rose Oil, on the other hand, is super light and non-greasy, perfect when worn under serums or moisturizer.

Inhaling the aroma of rose oil has a therapeutic, calming effect on the nervous system which means that adding the use of Rose Hydrosol (Rose Water)Face Toner  throughout the day is as good both for your mindset as it is for your skin.

4) Balances Hormone Production

Rose Oil is actually known as the “feminine oil”, as it is believed that it can help balance hormones and alleviate the skin symptoms associated with these imbalances. This makes it great to use when your skin is suffering from those monthly problems, and it’s in need of some rejuvenation and care.

5) Improves skin blood circulation

Finally, one of the most important qualities of Rose Oil is that it increases skin’s permeability, meaning that when rose oil is added to your skincare products, it opens up your skin to absorb more of the nutrients.

Thus, it’s important to choose products made with natural, non-toxic ingredients where the addition of rose oil will only increase the benefits from those ingredients

The pure Rose Oil penetrates deeper than any cream. This magic substance does miracles for the quality of the skin as a whole. People using Rose oil to treat their skin will notice that gradually it will become smoother and more glowing. One of the reasons for that is that Rose Oil enhances skin blood circulation.

In sum, Rose Oil is one of the best oils to give you shining, fresh, and youthful skin. The aroma keeps you charged and feeling happy. It is highly nourishing and anti-bacterial, and promotes healthy skin circulation, while preventing dehydration and skin infections.

Once the shea butter is soft, use a wire whisk to whip the ingredients together. It may take 7 or 8 minutes until it becomes a fluffy, white cream. Store in an airtight glass jar.

Use it to moisturize your face and body.

safety CONSIDERATIONS

of ROSE OIL FOR

FACE & BODY

Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3: safety use of rose oil for skin

Precautions for Rose Essential Oil

1) Can you ingest rose essential oil? No, this oil is not recommended for internal use.

2) Never use any essential oils too close to mucus membranes like your eyes.

3) Always keep essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.

4) Being an emmenagogue, it should not be used during pregnancy, since there is no definite evidence of whether the effects of rose essential oil can be transferred to the fetus. It could possibly cause a miscarriage if taken in excess, so be careful before using it.

5) Consult a doctor, before use, if you suffer from chronic conditions

Safety Usage for Skin:

Pure Rose Oil has many skin benefits when used topically and it can be used undiluted. However, it’s always a good idea to dilute essential oils with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba in a 1:1 ratio before applying it topically.

After diluting the oil, perform a small patch test first before using the oil on larger areas. Once you know you that you don’t have a negative reaction then you can safely add a few drops of essential oil to a face serum, warm bath, lotion or body wash.

Word of Caution for Rose Oil aromatic properties:

It can eliminate headaches if used in mild concentrations, but its strong aroma can do just the opposite, if a very high concentration is used.

The rich molecular composition of Rose Oil makes it one of the most beneficial essential oils for skin care and personal care products. And one of the best in the world – the Visagenics Bulgarian Rose Oil has strong healing, restoring and anti-aging properties in a very concentrated form:

Before you buy: The market is currently flooded with Rose Oil blends. These are diluted Rose Oil products created in order to lower the otherwise high price of pure Rose Oil. You’ll often see “rose absolute” sold in health food stores as well as mix of rose absolute (solvent extracted) and a carrier oil like Jojoba Oil. This is a much more affordable option, however, it is not as potent and therapeutic.

We always recommend that you make your blends yourself, rather than purchase those, since the concentrations of Rose Oil in market blends is so very minimal.

For example: You can dilute Rose Oil with Jojoba Oil or Coconut Oil (in 1:1 ratio) and use it for your skin. You can also add Rose Oil to your face cream or body lotion and enrich drastically its benefits

that way.

High quality Rose Oil is certainly pricey, but it is the best, most pure option and a little goes a long way, so a small bottle can last an extremely long time
